Wet and windy

Definitely a day for getting cosy in a hide to see what is around

Today is definitely a day for getting cosy in a hide to watch the wildlife. Most birds are tucked up trying to get out of the wind, which is also forcing birds to seek out new sheltering area.

Kingfisher Hide
The Crane flock has been using the Four Score field a lot this week, fpicking through the recently ploughed soil and an easy meal. Today Sedge was nearby in the Bottom New Piece, along with 57 Greylag Geese.

There was a big flush this morning before counting began, the source unknown. A Grey Heron was at the back of the deep lake, and also on the water were eight Cormorant, 58 Shelduck, five Pochard, a juvenile Little Grebe and 51 Tufted Duck.
