WWT Arundel awarded Bronze in Accessibility & Inclusivity

WWT Arundel Wetland Centre was awarded a Bronze for Accessible and Inclusive Tourism at the Beautiful South Tourism Awards.

These prestigious awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of tourism businesses and experiences across the South East. The awards were held at The Grand in Brighton on Tues 10 Dec, 2024.

This Bronze Award recognises that WWT Arundel Wetland Centre is a memorable visitor experience - particularly for those with accessibility requirements. The wetland centre improved its facilities to welcome all visitors accessibility over the past year by appointing an Accessibility Champion, implementing a Sensory Bag program for visitors and creating a Visual Story Guide to assist people with pre-visit preparations. In 2023 WWT Arundel opened a Changing Places toilet bolstering our existing accessible boat safari and flexible education programs. Arundel Wetland Centre also has level walkways, step-free wildlife hides, wheelchair hire, accessible parking spaces and accessible toilets.

Marketing Manager Pat Warren said, “I would like to wish a huge congratulations to all our fellow Beautiful South Award Finalists and thank our dedicated staff and volunteers for their hard work. We were in a category with strong contenders from larger venues and were honoured to receive this award.”

WWT Arundel Wetland Centre is open every day of the year, except Christmas Day, and closes at 2 pm on Christmas Eve. The site is open 10 am-4.30 pm, seven days a week. Visit wwt.org.uk/Arundel for more information.
