Reserve Update Thursday 9th November

Lovely start to the morning today and what a change from yesterday.  Whooper swan numbers for the Swan feeds are now regularly up to 90 birds with the cold snap at the beginning of the week encouraging them in.  A few more named birds are in so please see below.  The drake Pintail is once again on the Teal Pond and a second drake Pintail is asleep on the Flood Ground.  The hybrid Barnacle Goose is in the Lochar field.  A mixed flock of 50 Fieldfare and Redwing are roving along the Avenue.  The Great White Egret is once again visible on the merse, quite close in to Saltcot Observatory first thing.
