Accessibility during autumn and winter

During the colder months, the reserve can be wet and muddy so waterproof footwear is recommended. Those with limited mobility or using push wheelchairs may find traversing the Avenue and Saltcot Loaning unsuitable. Please call us on 01387 770200 for more info.

Sightings 09/12/2016

A bit of a wet start to the day, however, a nice influx of Whooper Swans with 160 birds coming into the feed this morning. This gave us a chance to read some leg rings and 3 new birds were picked out. Orange YPJ & ZFJ were a new pair in with two cygnets and yellow Z7G is one of our named swans - Charners.

Elsewhere on the reserve 68 Black-tailed Godwits continue to roost on the Folly pond along with good numbers of Teal.

A single Scaup was amongst the Tufted ducks on the Whooper pond.
