Reserve Update Tuesday 11th September - Saltcot Loaning closed this week
The Mute Swan family have now taken up residence on Whooper Pond which is not such good news for the other Mute Swans trying to land there. So far five interlopers have been seen off. This will all change once we start to get the Whooper Swans returning. The Little Grebes remain a feature as well on Whopper Pond. Yesterday over eighty Pintail were present on Folly Pond first thing but they departed through the day. Over 400 Teal and 100 Wigeon were present first thing this morning.
We currently have hedgerow maintenance operations being undertaken down the Saltcot Loaning which means this section of the reserve has been temporarily closed until Saturday this week.

Unfortunately we have been experiencing problems with our Osprey camera this year. We hope to fix the problems before next summer. At the moment, the two Osprey chicks are still around the area but they will be heading south soon.
We aim to have Swan Cam and Badger Cam up and running soon.
