Caerlaverock reserve, Sunday 10th Jan

Back to wet today after 31mm of rain in last 24hrs. Wellies are a must for full reserve access, also keep an eye on local traffic reports, as earlier the water was just coming over the road at Bankend, 3 miles away, and tide rising, possibly affecting visitors coming from the east, ie Annan/Carlisle/M6 direction. With any luck it will remain passable as forecast to dry up later.
Birds on both main ponds were jumpy this morning, so presumably our otter is still around, with a wide broadcast of birds all over the reserve, incl. large flocks of Golden Plover and Lapwing

Today's high tide is at 12.22, 9.3m
