Latest Sightings - 29th October - Autumnwatch on site and setting up!

It's very busy around the site now, with huge broadcasting trucks in the yard, miles of cabling being laid and a studio to dress.
The BBC Autumnwatch presenters were on site yesterday filming some short pieces in advance of the live shows starting on Monday.

The high tides have been good recently and we should be set for another good one today. Yesterday saw 3000 Shelduck, 300 Pintail, a distant raft of Common Scoter, 2000 Dunlin, 1000 Knot and 700 Golden Plover moving over the rising water.
The tide last night covered most of the merse leaving huge flooded areas where ducks are now feeding, 570 Pintail among others.

Today's high tide is at 13:10  10m
With a south westerly wind behind it, this should be quite a spectacle and it's worth getting to the Saltcot Merse Observatory around 11am to get the full experience.
