Accessibility during autumn and winter

During the colder months, the reserve can be wet and muddy so waterproof footwear is recommended. Those with limited mobility or using push wheelchairs may find traversing the Avenue and Saltcot Loaning unsuitable. Please call us on 01387 770200 for more info.

Reserve Update Friday 21st September - Whooper!

Our first Whooper Swan has turned up on the Reserve this morning.  Back on Whooper Pond and ready for some food!  It has been an interesting week with the storms causing a degree of havoc on Wednesday.  It did however push in a Little Gull for a brief spell that day.  Teal numbers continue to increase and Corner field is looking good with over 300 of them along with Mallard, Starling and Lapwing.  Curlew are starting to utilise the fields behind Newfield hide so Autumn must be here!

Today's high tide is at 11:06, 7.8m

Unfortunately we have been experiencing problems with our Osprey camera this year. We hope to fix the problems before next summer. At the moment, the two Osprey chicks are still around the area but they will be heading south soon.
We aim to have Swan Cam and Badger Cam up and running soon.
