Wet 'n Windy Caerlaverock, Tuesday 26th Jan

Almost impossible conditions first thing, so no real up-to-date wildlife sightings, though the swans are managing to hold station at the Whooper Pond in anticipation of the feeds. No Ring-necked Duck again, and the adult male Greater Scaup of the last few days appears to have moved off too. Winds are currently too high to allow access down the main avenue (tree hazard), and Saltcot Loaning requires wellies for full access. Check local road reports for news on flooding - access via Bankend for visitors approaching from easterly directions was ok earlier, but this may change with the rising tide. Some flooding earlier on the Bankend Road from Dumfries, passable with care

Today's high tide is at 13:44, 9.4m
