Limekiln Observatory
A modern take on an old building, the Limekiln Observatory housed the kiln when the site was a brick-and-lime works at the end of the Victorian era. Plus, with breath-taking views across Strangford Lough, the Limekiln Observatory is an ideal spot for history and wildlife lovers alike.
Brent Discovery Hide
This hide offers views of three different habitats so you can make the most of the spectacular wildlife around the reserve. It has a brilliant vantage point for viewing wildlife on Strangford Lough – including 90% of the world’s population of light-bellied Brent geese that venture here in the autumn. With bird ID guides and illustrations covering the walls, this is a perfect spot for families and beginner birders.
Crannog roundhouse
Step back in time in this Iron Age roundhouse, overlooking the Freshwater Lagoon. Enjoy close-up views of birds like moorhen, gadwall and teal.
