All island first for wildlife art
Castle Espie’s Graffan Gallery, Ireland’s only environmental art space, is hosting an exhibition which will bring together the art world’s Irish wildlife painters. Running from Saturday 17 September to Sunday 2 October 2011, the exhibition will be a first in Ireland for an exhibition featuring wildlife artists from both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Set in the tranquil surroundings of Castle Espie Wetland Centre outside Comber, County Down, the gallery has featured a number of eminent artists since it reopened in June 2009. This collective will boast work by renowned artists such as RUA President Julian Friers, Killian Mullarney, Roy Gaston, Lorna Hamilton, Michael O’Clery, Dave Daly, Richard Ward and Bob Milliken.
Castle Espie Wetland Centre is open daily from 10am. Access to the car park, visitor centre, shop, Loughshore Café and Graffan Gallery is free of charge. Normal admission prices apply to the wetlands.
