Castle Espie has Christmas shopping all wrapped up

Solve all your Christmas shopping headaches in one go by visiting WWT Castle Espie Wetland Centre, Co Down on Friday 7th December between 6.30pm to 8.30pm, for some enjoyable and festive retail therapy accompanied by carol singing and the arrival of Santa.

For the occasion the shop is bursting with an enticing range of seasonal gifts and small stocking fillers. In addition to a fantastic selection of Christmas presents and cards, there is a wide range of books on birds, gardening and green issues including the beautifully illustrated book of drawings by WWT’s founder, Sir Peter Scott. Don’t forget the birds at Christmas and take the opportunity to stock up with bird food and feeders while you are at Castle Espie. (FREE gift when you spend over £20). Ladies why not browse handcrafted silverware (earrings, necklaces, picture frames, and spoons) as well as paintings of wildlife and nature by award winning gold & silver smith, Gillian Downing.

Regent House Prep School Choir will be joining us for carol singing between 7pm and 8pm. There will be Christmas craft activities running throughout the evening and the kids can also enjoy some festive fun trying on costumes with our large dressing up boxes (mums & dads bring your own cameras), post letters to Santa and toast marshmallows over the open fire in the courtyard.

Feeling tired after all that retail therapy? Then call in at the coffee shop for some complimentary mulled wine and mince pies. You can also enjoy our winter warmer stew, soup, hot desserts and of course our seasonal specialty drink ‘Coconut Snowball’.

This event is free for adults and the only cost is for children visiting Santa. For more information and to book event spaces please email info.castleespie@wwt.org.uk or call 02891 874146
