Have a Cracking Easter at Castle Espie

Easter isn’t all about chocolate eggs wrapped in colourful foil, it’s also the time when Castle Espie Wetland Centre, on the shores of Strangford Lough comes alive. Celebrate the thrill of new life as eggs begin to hatch and cute ducklings and goslings emerge. They signal the start of the Easter holidays and a fun-packed programme of activities and events for all the family to enjoy.

So join us from the 22 March to the 7 April, 10am-4.30pm daily for the Giant Easter Bunny Hunt. Search for the large coloured bunnies hidden around the site. Map and clues provided. Prizes for all children upon completion of the trail. Doodle Bunnies leave your mark on our bunny board, Remember to bring your camera as there will be a special photo opportunity at the end of the hunt. Pop your face into the free standing Easter cut out and you will be transformed into an Easter Bunny.

Birdie crafts will be running all day long with a helping hand from our Easter bunny staff. PLUS face-painting will be available at the centre on Easter Monday and Tuesday 12 – 3pm. Those wanting to burn of those Easter eggs can visit Stoat Town natural play area. The Big Easter Bunny Hunt is included in the cost of admission and free to WWT members.

Birdwatch Morning, 28 March – 10.30am
Join Dot Blakely, our resident bird expert and find out more about all types of birds in and around the grounds. Everyone welcome. Time: 10.30am and included in cost of admission.

The Wee Birdie Birdwatch a series of birdwatching talks for children. Taking place the first 3 Sundays of April, May & June at 2pm. Call reception to book your space.

Dawn Chorus a guided walk to identify the birds by their songs and calls. Sunday 31 March & Sunday 21 April, 6am. Please call us to book a place.
