Loose Thread Quilters ‘En Vacances’ Exhibition (4 – 27 Jan 2014)
Beat those winter blues away this January and come along to check out the return of the Loose Thread Quilters who will be showcasing their latest collection of quilts entitled “En Vacances” at Castle Espie Gallery. The exhibition opens on Saturday 4 January 2014 at 10am.
Loose Thread Quilters is a small group of active quilt makers drawn from all over Northern Ireland. Formed in 1996, the group established to promote the practice and art of patchwork, appliqué and quilting for the traditional quilt maker and the contemporary fabric artist.
The membership covers a wide range of abilities from beginners to tutors of the craft, all united by a common love of fabric art. Through a programme of exhibitions around the country, fellow quilters and the public in general are able to enjoy the work.
The group is delighted to return to Castle Espie gallery with the latest collection. ‘En Vacances’, is a suitcase exhibition especially designed to travel. In creating the pieces, individual quilters took inspiration from holiday activities and destinations, past and present.
The exhibition will run from Saturday 4th January to 27th January and the doors are open from 10am to 4.30pm. There is no cost to visit Castle Espie gallery.
