• Plan your journey, ensuring that you know where you are going, including any rest-stops and why not opt for a scenic route through Northern Ireland to enjoy the views and avoid the holiday traffic?
• Check that all the lights and indicators are working and make sure there are some spare bulbs in the glove box
• Ensure that wipers are in good condition and check that there are no chips on the windscreen
• Make sure there are no bulges or splits in the tyres, check tyre pressures as per the vehicle handbook and make sure the spare tyre is in good condition
• Make sure all seatbelts are in good working order and that there are no warning lights on the dashboard requiring attention
