Blue-headed (type) Wagtail

Bit of late news with a Blue-headed (type) Wagtail briefly at 6:40pm on the Reed Bed Walk with cattle opposite the sewage works before flying off NW. Also on the Reed Bed Walk Male Marsh Harrier and male Wheatear.

Plenty of hirundines moving through early evening too.

Greenshank new for the year, seen on Woodend Marsh viewed from the United Utilities Hide. This brings our year list onto 120 species. Interesting to note that we are only two species behind where we were this time last year.

Yellow Wagtails again today on Woodend and at the back of the Mere. Also White Wagtails.

The now 'long staying' Spoonbill present on Woodend Marsh, also Little Egret.

At least one Common Sandpiper, ~200 Lapwing now nesting, 60 Avocet, 20+ Ruff and similar numbers of Black-tailed Godwit.
