Left it a bit late to start building that ark, not to worry it's only been raining for the last 8 hours. Any hopes for a massive influx of birds has turned into a damp squib.

A few reported sightings included female Red-crested Pochard from the Harrier Hide, at least one White Wagtail on the Mere, Common Sandpiper, 22 Black-tailed Godwit, 3 Dunlin, Ruff and Common Snipe.

The male Marsh Harrier has been hunting although it's brief journey over Plover Field was greeted by 30 mobbing Lapwing.

Tomorrow's weather looks far more sensible and with easterlies still forecast you never know what may turn up.
