Some early rain passed through leaving us with excellent windless birding condition for the rest of the day.

A raptor fest with seven species recorded; Hen Harrier (ring-tail), 4+ Marsh Harrier, Merlin, Peregrine, 2 Common Buzzard, Sparrowhawk and Kestrel. Short-eared Owl and Barn Owl were out and about this afternoon. Two Raven were also in on the action.

The Grey Phalarope showed well at times from the Ron Barker Hide.

Two European White-fronts came in with Pink-footed Geese. Double figure Barnacle Geese were also on the reserve. At least 1400 Whooper Swan.

A Little Egret flew through. Yesterday's Great (White) Egret was actual the second record for the year.

The presumed Willow Tit was showing on and off from the Janet Kear Hide.
