Bird Counts

An improvement on the weather from the weekend with the wind dropping. Although there has been no further sightings of the Bluethroat we shall be looking for it over the next few days.

Some counts included 39 Teal, 5+ Shoveler, 7 Wigeon, 15 Tufted, 15 Gadwall, 2 Pochard, Pintail, 42 Canada, 30 Greylag. Waders included 2 Green Sandpiper, 40+ Lapwing, 29 Avocet, 3 Oystercatcher, 11 Redshank, 2 Ringed Plover and 3 Black-tailed Godwit.

The Black-headed Gulls are doing well with 178 birds present including many fledged young.

The slightly tatty adult female Marsh Harrier still present, 3+ Common Buzzard and Kestrel.
