As it happens, todays weather front and easterlies brought an influx of new species for the year. A Common Whitethroat was singing along the Nature Trail, Little Gull and Common Tern both passed through and a Yellow Wagtail flew over Sunley's Marsh. This brings the reserve year list onto 128 species.

It's not all rarities and new spring arrivals. The Tree Sparrow nest box survey is pointing towards another excellent breeding year with 74 boxes occupied, 186 eggs and the first 4 hatched chicks.
