Hen Harrier again
A new ringtail Hen Harrier has been seen over the last few days, this bird seems to be a juvenile bird while the late Feb bird appeared to be an adult/near adult female type, but no reports of either bird today so far but an immature Marsh Harrier has been seen.
Other sightings over recent days have been a Woodcock again near Janet Kear Hide as well as the usual Tree Sparrows and finches on the feeding station at the Hide.
Our first Sand Martins were seen from Kingfisher Hide on Sunday.
The Tawny Owls continue to be seen near Janet Kear Hide, pop in to In Focus shop for details of where to see them.
Still excellent numbers of Waders on site with at least 55 Avocet, 100+ Oystercatcher, 50 Ruff, 30 Black-tailed Godwit to be seen around the Mere.
Bearded Tits can be looked for on the Reedbed walk or the Community Reedbed walk, and with a bit of patience and luck can be seen or heard along with Cetti's Warbler and Water Rail.
A pair of Raven flew over the reserve this morning
At the afternoon feed were around 200+ Whooper Swan and still plenty of Pintail, Wigeon, Shelduck and Mallard.
A flock of around 300 Pink-footed Geese this morning along Curlew Lane with Whooper Swans, also the usual Corn Bunting.
