Latest Sightings

We had a unique visitor on Friday—the Ruddy Shelduck—a species that has only been seen once this year.

2 Ruddy Shelducks were spotted early Friday morning, with no reported sightings thereafter.

We also observed 17 Cattle Egret, 1 Grey Heron, 10 Cormorants and over 150 Black Tailed Godwit from Discovery Hide.

A flock of Pink Footed Geese were seen flying over the Mere, with 10 more counted on Saturday, along with 5 Cattle Egret, 3 Teal and 2 Shoveler.

At Gordon Taylor hide, 12 Snipe, 5 Ruff, 2 Little Ringed Plovers and 1 Hobby were observed.

A Kingfisher was seen at Ron Barker hide, and a Water Rail at Rees Hide.

Today, we have had sightings of a Peregrine falcon at the back of the Mere.

A Hobby and 2 Greenshank have been seen from Gordon Taylor Hide.

Also spotted were 1 Green Sandpiper, 3 Wigeon and 50 Pink Footed Geese, viewed from Rees hide.
