Little Stint
Better conditions today and more new waders coming in. A Little Stint was found on Woodend Marsh around midday and a Greenshank there was new in. No counts but 1000+ Black-tailed Godwit present, 20+ Ruff including juveniles, 10+ Snipe, 500+ Lapwing, 3 Dunlin, Curlew.
A juvenile Med Gull (below) was with Black-headed Gulls on the Mere mid morning onward.
Small numbers of eclipsed wildfowl around the reserve includes Teal, Gadwall, Shoveler, Pochard and Tufted Duck.
Kingfishers from the UU Hide and the Ron Barker Hide.
Marsh Harrier (juv), 3 Buzzard, 2 Kestrel and Sparrowhawk.
Swift still moving through. Two Whitethroat by Millers Bridge.
Call in at the in focus shop to report any sightings or to get an up date on what (and where) has been seen. It should be possible to see 60+ species of bird in a full days birding on and around the reserve.
