Pleasant day on the reserve and lots of activity. A second summer Mediterranean Gull flew in mid morning with Black-headed Gulls on the Mere. The Black-tailed Godwits are still looking very smart and a swirling flock of 300+ flushed by raptors is not to be missed.

Speaking of raptors, two or three Kestrel hunting in close where some of the fields have been mown. At least 4 Common Buzzard, 2 Sparrowhawk and 2 Marsh Harrier today. Barn Owl early on.

Swifts were in action with 150+ feeding over the reserve around midday. Two Green Sandpiper showing well from the Swan Link and Hale Hides. Seven Ruff most in early molt from summer plumage, nice. A single Dunlin was also new in.
