Med Gull and other birds

A frosty sunny start to the day, clouding over later making viewing in the afternoon ideal. An adult breeding plumage Med Gull came in with Black-headed Gull just before 4pm.

Recently there has been over 3000 Black-headed Gulls coming into roost so there is likely to be more than one Med Gull among them if you can find them!

Again 14 Avocet, 30+ Oystercatcher, 70+ Ruff, 6 Black-tailed Godwit, 2 Ringed Plover and 400+ Lapwing.

Three Stonechat again out on Plover Field. Also Raven there which was seen to catch a Mole.

Two Barn Owl showed well on the Reed Bed Walk and a couple of pairs of Little Grebe can be seen and heard with their chuckling call there too.

Just off the reserve a mixed flock of ~ 100 Fieldfare and Redwing. Also Corn Buntings 'jangling' from wires close by.
