Our hides have reopened to the public starting today. The black-headed gulls on the mere have had many chicks hatch over the last week, they should be visible on the islands and rafts.

The great white egret was seen on ploverfield this morning.

A male blackcap was singing in the wooded area near kingfisher hide this morning and many other warbler species can be seen and heard throughout the reserve; including reed, sedge and cetti's warblers and at least two whitethroats.
