Wind and rain to start the day followed by wind and sunshine!

Classic condition to drop some waders in and low and behold in they came. A flock of 26 Ringed Plover were on Woodend Marsh with a record flock of 8 Sanderling breaking the previous record of 7 from May 1986! Also with the flock 6 Dunlin. Also there 50 Black-tailed Godwit.

Three pair of Little Ringed Plover on site. Two pair of Common Tern.

More Avocet chicks popping out with at least 5 on the Mere (2 and 3). Also more and more Black-headed Gull chicks all over.

Two singing male Goldcrest on site. One just past the Duckery towards the Ron Barker Hide and one near trhe Wooded Wetland Area inside the Grounds.
