Spoonbill & Spotted Flycatcher

An excellent day on site with two new birds for the year, a Spotted Flycatcher that was seen and photographed near Kingfisher Hide but wasn't seen after initial sighting. Then a Spoonbill was seen flying towards Ron Barker area where it landed on Sunley's but disappeared soon afterwards.

Two Marsh Harriers were seen today, a second bird joining the usual bird that has been around for a while.

Still up to 4 Common Tern's on the Mere including the nesting pair. Three pairs of Little Ringed Plovers still sitting on eggs must be close to hatching any day now.

Coal Tit by Kingfisher Hide, also a Goldcrest was singing in the Pines by Raine's Hide yesterday.

Bee Orchid's can be seen on the sloping bank on the walk up to Harrier Hide with a bit of patience to locate them among the grass.
