Tuesday's Sightings

Starting off with a rare sighting of the Bearded Reedling this morning when a female popped up in the Reed Bed briefly before moving off.

Out on Woodend Marsh; 93 Black-tailed Godwit, two pair of Avocet now have chicks, 2 Little Ringed Plover.

Three pair of Avocet on the Mere have now got young. Scan around the back edge. Many more are still sitting on eggs on the central island. Little Ringed Plover still sitting on the Mere.

A flock of 6 Little Egret flew over the reserve early on.

Great Crested Grebes that were nesting in front of Harrier Hide have hatched 2 chicks.

Pochard with duckling on the Reed Bed and in Langley's Brook.

Two Marsh Harrier seen today, the first reports for a week. Four or five Buzzard distantly. Two Kestrel and Sparrowhawk.

A female Emperor Drangonfly was seen on the Reed Bed. Also Black-tailed Skimmer and Four-spotted Chaser.
