Willow Warbler

Great start to the day blue skies, sunshine and the first Willow Warbler of the year singing inside the Grounds by the Canoe Safari.

No shortage of Chiffchaff (below) with at least 8 singing males around the reserve.

One hundred and one Avocet on site. At least 90 Black-tailed Godwit (below), 60+ Lapwing, 10 Oystercatcher, 20 Ruff, 4 Redshank, 2 Snipe and Little Ringed Plover.

Hen Harrier (ringtail) again today causing a commotion among the Lapwing. Also Marsh Harrier, Buzzard and Kestrel so far.

At least 5 Med Gull today. Two Great Black-backed Gull loafing on the Mere.

Out on the perimeter Corn Bunting (above) singing on territory and a pair of Grey Partridge (below).
