Latest Sightings

After a few days of dry warm weather the water levels at Gordon Taylor Hide and Woodend Marsh are reducing leaving some great muddy areas which is attracting more waders - Ruff, Common Sandpiper, Green Sandpiper, Redshanks and Little Ringed Plovers.
Ron Barker Hide has more waders spotted in the last couple of days and regular sightings of the Kingfisher family, also the Bittern and Barn Owl have been seen regularly hunting for food. The Marsh Harriers have 4 chicks branching and a juvenile stonechat, 3 common Tern and 2 teal ducklings spotted.
Today our lovely English Longhorn Cattle have been moved to near Ron Barker Hide with 12 Cattle Egrets following. Photo of the Cattle Egrets on the Mere when the cows where being moved.
