Bittern surprise
Yesterday morning whilst doing the usual bird count, a surprised Bittern took off from the pool next to the reedbed hide. It floated off over the reedbed and landed on the far side of the Scrape hide lagoon. Other birds of note at the moment are a Common

Easter weekend
Whats new? A handful of Swallows and Sand martins now being seen and the hatch of Mallard ducklings has begun. Bumblebees were more active to day with several different species now flying, Tree, Buff tailed and Early. At least 6 female Lapwing now sitting

Wildlife sightings

Sunday sightings
Top spots of the day were 3 Kingfishers zooming around Arun riverlife with an Oystercatcher displaying and one Lapwing plus 17 Lapwing from the Lapwing hide. 6 more Lapwing with 2 Oystercatchers from the Ramsar hide and a Red kite floating over the reser

Sunday sightings
The most notable and obvious birds of the day were all the gulls out from the Ramsar and Sandmartin hides. There were around 1600 Blackheaded gulls, 300 Common gulls and 4 Mediterranean gulls. One Little egret, Teal, Gadwall, Shelduck and 5 Lapwing

Wet grassland surprise!
At midday a surprise Jack snipe was flushed up from the wet grassland. Good numbers of pre breeding Lapwing from the hides today with 10 from the Lapwing hide displaying and jostling for the best positions. A single Lapwing on the new Arun riverlife area
